Client: Farfetch (via Alpha3D)
Role: Project Manager
Duration: Ongoing (variable monthly scope)
Tools: Trello, Google Sheets, Slack, Blender, Discord
Overview
Working with Farfetch, one of the world’s leading online luxury fashion retailers, I led the end-to-end 3D model production process for hundreds of high-end fashion items each month. The goal was simple yet ambitious, to bring Farfetch’s online shopping experience to life through realistic, interactive 3D product visualizations.
The Challenge
The scale of the project was significant, with monthly output reaching up to 500 meticulously detailed 3D models. Maintaining premium quality while meeting tight turnaround times required not just project management, but precise orchestration of people, tools, and workflow.
My Approach
I restructured the 3D production pipeline by implementing strategic team allocation, pairing artists based on their product category expertise, luxury apparel, footwear, and accessories. This boosted productivity and minimized QA errors. I also introduced risk mitigation protocols that enabled quick responses to feedback or technical bottlenecks.
Throughout the collaboration, I maintained transparent communication with Farfetch stakeholders, ensuring expectations were always aligned. My priority was consistent quality control, no model left our pipeline without passing detailed QA checks for geometry, texture accuracy, and optimization for Farfetch’s proprietary 3D viewer.
The Results
- 500+ high-quality models per month, fully optimized for web integration.
- Consistent client praise for fast communication, delivery speed, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Improved production efficiency and increased monthly output through better team coordination.
- Strengthened Alpha3D’s standing as a trusted 3D partner for luxury eCommerce.
